What To Put On a Wedding Registry

Do you need more gift ideas for your wedding registry?

Although I'm no expert on wedding etiquette, I have surveyed dozens of registries of couples engaged within the last few years and have now compiled this handy index of what couples commonly - and sometimes not-so-commonly - list on their registries.

1. Kitchen and dining room supplies include a blender, juicer, coffee maker, can opener, cheese grater, cheeseboard, appetizer plate, butter dish, plastic containers, cookbook, cookie sheets, cooling rack, dinner napkins, dishes, sauce pan, frying pan, grill pan, measuring cups and teaspoons, microwave, napkin rings, paper towel holder, pepper mill, pitcher, place mats, platter, roaster, salt and pepper shakers, silverware, skillet, spatula, toaster oven, tongs, whisk, and vegetable tray. There were some registry ideas that I didn't readily think of, and seemed a little more unique, so I have separated them below along with specific product links. All of the following eleven links redirect to Macy's.com.

2. Bed, bath, and other household supplies include bedding, a bedside table, clock, curtains, throw pillows, shower curtain (with hooks), bath rug, digital scale, lotion dispenser, soap dish, tissue holder, toothbrush holder, waste basket, coasters, electric fan, fireplace tool set, front door floor mat, folding table, lamps, hamper, iron, ironing board, towels, wash cloths, vacuum, broom, and a work ladder.

3. Registry items directly related to the wedding include wedding-themed picture frames, a scrapbook, or any item with monogrammed initials. A gift card is easy for a guest to purchase, and may help lighten some of the wedding expenses. I've even seen someone register for thank-you notes for after the wedding!
